Redhouse Farm Phase 2

The Judicial review has been successful. This means the planning permission has been revoked.
The developers can still challenge this decision in the High Court !
If this site of 150 dwellings had gone ahead it would have joined Reservoir Road up to Belvedere Road and would have taken 55 spaces away from the Queen's Hospital's main car park.
FLY TIPPING

We are getting more fly tipping in and around Outwoods.

All fly tipping is reported to the local authority (ESBC) but there is not normally anything to identify the culprits.

This latest incident occurred in Field Lane. The boxed bowls in the photographs are very distinctive, so somebody must recognise them. If you do please report the culprits directly to ESBC.

Little Forest, Longhedge Lane.

Today the 8th March was the launch of this project. The Forest will be leased by The de Ferrers Academy and run by a committee chaired by Lawrence Oates (Burton Conservation) and made up of local individuals and groups. John Anderson, Outwoods Parish Chairman represents Outwoods Parish Council on the committee. We made a donation of £500 which was presented to Nick Holmes, de Ferrers head teacher, today by John Anderson. There was a very good turnout with representatives of many different groups.

The Little Forest is a few acres in size and will be used by schools and other organisations for educational outings. A composter toilet and log seating areas will be added as funds and time allow as will layered hedging and a new gateway. There will be a hardstanding area for mini-buses to park. It is a fantastic project run by enthusiastic people.

Thieves are active in our neighbourhood

We are reminding residents to be on their guard and to review home and vehicle security following a number of burglaries where offenders have targeted the property with a view to stealing the keys and vehicle at the property.

We would urge residents to ensure their property is secure at all times, including all doors and windows and that items of value and keys are stored away out of view.

Offenders often target properties with high value/high performance vehicles on the driveway however this is not always the case! If keys are visible through windows and doors then offenders will break in; take the keys and make off in the vehicle.

Letís not make it easy for them!

If you have any information which could assist us with our enquiries, please contact us on 101 or anonymously via crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

For more home and vehicle security advice and information please visit the force website at www.staffordshire.police.uk/crimeprevention.

You can view crime statistics for our area which comes under the Tutbury and Rolleston neighbourhood on the Police.uk website where you can explore an interative crime map and also find contact details for our local policing team. Please report any suspicious activity to the Police.

Beware of doorstep callers in Outwoods.

If anyone calls to offer services (eg. drive re-surfacing etc.) please ask for identification. If valid ID is not offered or you are suspicious, please take note of any phone numbers and reg. no. on vehicles if possible and phone the police immediately, quoting incident no. 541 13/11/2016.

On the spot fines for dog walkers now in place and being implemented by ESBC Enforcement team

ESBC now has the power to issue on the spot fines of £75.00 by their enforcement team to dog walkers not carrying the means to clean up after their dog.

As there are many owners and canines who enjoy the Outwoods Parish area of East Staffordshire the OPC felt it is appropriate that we informed our parishioners and other rights-of-way users of this fact.

There are many adequately located bins around where the disposal bags can be placed and we strongly recommend that they are used after cleaning up and not discarded needlessly around the area.

Please keep the Outwoods area free from dog waste and disposal bags.

USE THE BINS AND AVOID THE FINE
